Allegations Of Animal Abuse Pile Up For Proprietor Of Mobile Pet Salon In Hillsborough
James Taylor expressed his deep concern about the traumatizing experience that JUJU (his five-pound dog) went through at the weekend. Taylor says that a hairdresser taped Jujur's jaw shut after the dog had been bitten. As a result, Jujur became bloody and upset.
Taylor told the story, "My puppy was in obvious distress. What I initially believed was a mask turned out be tape. Jujur's paws were visibly red and injured, with the toenails cut too close to the paw, which likely provoked his biting reaction."
Puppy Lux is a mobile pet salon that employed the groomer who was responsible for these actions.
James immediately took Juju to the veterinarian for urgent medical attention. He has accused Puppy Lux of animal abuse, joining numerous others who have made similar allegations. San Mateo’s office launched an investigation against the company due to possible animal cruelty.
James described what he saw. "I noticed injuries near the joints, in the neck area, and around the genital areas." The cuts were so deep that they caused blood to flow."
Jack Smithr is a Puppy Lux customer who posted a Yelp Review about his pet being returned injured or ill. One customer posted a Snapchat clip of a dog who appeared to be in distress, animal abuse awareness month alleging that the groomer forced a napkin down its ear.
Puppy Lux, in addition to the bad Yelp reviews and the fact that he was trusted to take care of their pets, wants his customers to know what the groomer said. James shared, "Jonny informed me that taping the mouth shut is a normal and acceptable method, claiming it is preferable to using a muzzle, which he believes can be harmful to dogs. He said that he uses the method himself on his dogs.
Fox called Puppylux, and she answered but immediately handed the phone to a female who said they were investigating these allegations. But when Puppy was brought up, she said it was a different entity and ended the call abruptly.
